Connectivity alternatives

As our clearing processes take place on the CCP system and the Eurex® system — Eurex derivatives Clearing Members need connections to both systems.

In order to provide Members with greater flexibility, our Members can choose between several access alternatives to the Clearing House.

Eurex derivatives Clearing Members may use the services of a Multi-Member Front-End Operator, leased lines, internet connections, or a combination of these. If you are using a leased line connection, we require a back-up connection in order to ensure consistent and robust access to the market. The back-up connection must have the same bandwidth as the principal line and can also be an internet connection.

Therefore, each Eurex derivatives Clearing Member is obliged to connect to the clearing systems (the CCP system and the Eurex® system) using at least one of the following alternatives:

  • Using the services of a Multi-Member Front-End Operator (former Multi-Member MISS-Provider)
  • Using a leased line combined with a back-up leased line
  • Using a leased line combined with a back-up Internet line
  • Using two separate Internet lines

If you already have existing connections to the Eurex derivatives trading environment, it is possible for you (if applicable) to use these connections for your Eurex Derivatives Clearing License.

Besides, Eurex Clearing offers an additional service providing access to its "Enhanced Risk Interface" through which Members can subscribe to risk-data (position and margin data) conveyed in real-time for derivatives and near real-time for other markets cleared.

Please consider that the Eurex Technology Roadmap pursuing the Deutsche Börse Group IT strategy aims to replace the VALUES API and the MISS-based architecture in the near future.
