Webinar: Update of the EMIR regulation

Introduction of the CCP clearing obligation for OTC interest rate derivatives
  • Start:17 Jun 2019 11:00 AM

Time: 11.00 AM - 12.00 noon CEST

Joint webinar of BVI and Eurex Clearing

The revised EMIR regulation (EMIR-Refit) was published on 28 May 2019 in the EU Official Journal and will enter into force on 17 June 2019. There is no transitional implementation period announced.

The updated EMIR regulation introduces the new category “Small Financial Counterparties” (e.g. UCITS/AIFs). Such counterparties should now start to calculate and document the CCP clearing thresholds. If no calculation is made, they are automatically subject to the clearing obligation.

In order to be prepared for the new clearing obligation and to be able to carry out CCP clearing of interest rate derivatives in investment funds (UCITS/AIFs), BVI, the German Investment Funds Association, kindly invites you to a joint webinar with Eurex Clearing AG. The session will be held in English.

The Frankfurt-based Eurex Clearing already enables the CCP clearing of Euro-denominated interest rate derivatives. They currently have around 300 connected market participants with steadily growing volumes as well as a very good price quality and liquidity picture. For investment fund management companies, Eurex Clearing offers individual clearing models for direct access.

We are pleased that in the webinar, DWS will provide a short practical overview of the CCP onboarding process.
