OTC Exchange for Physicals (EFP and EFPI Trades)

We support the clearing and settlement of OTC Exchange for Physical trades and OTC Exchange f for Physicals/Index trades.

The OTC EFP trade facility allows Eurex Members to enter transactions concluded off exchange vis-à-vis futures contracts which are tradable on the exchange and which are admitted to the OTC EFP trade facility for clearing purposes.

OTC Exchange for Physicals - Fixed Income Futures

An OTC Exchange for Physicals for Fixed Income Futures Trade (EFP Trade) requires the entry of both a fixed income futures purchase and a corresponding sale of a cash bond, including settlement information for the cash securities. The bond must be in the same currency as the futures, and the bond position must have a price correlation to the futures position such that the future represents an appropriate hedge instrument for the bond.

The EFP trade facility is available for the following combinations of futures contracts and underlyings:

Admitted Underlyings
(Reporting Transaction)
Eurex Futures
(Transaction creating a position)
Debt securities Eurex Fixed Income Futures
Eurex Credit Futures
Eurex or Non-Eurex Money Market Futures Eurex Fixed Income Futures

OTC Exchange for Physicals - Equity Index Futures

The EFPI facility allows Members to organize and execute transactions which involve a combination of a specified cash market trade (equities basket) traded on-exchange or OTC, and a futures trade. The number of traded futures contracts must be in a certain relation to the nominal value of the equities basket. Eligible products are all equity index futures.

The corresponding equities basket has to meet certain conditions:

  • The nominal value has to be larger than EUR 1 million or CHF 1.5 million.
  • The values of the equities basket and the futures contracts may differ by a maximum of 20 percent.
  • The equities basket components must be part of Dow Jones STOXX® TMI Index or Dow Jones Global Titans 50SM Index.
  • The minimum number of different shares comprised in the corresponding equities basket is defined with ten or has to represent more than half of the components of the respective underlying index.
