The Clearing Corporation
The Clearing Corporation (CCorp) is an independent U.S.-based futures Clearing House, and offers services
for submitted trades by continually matching, throughout the day, the clearing participant buyer with
the clearing participant seller. As a Clearing House, The Clearing Corporation guarantees performance of
all trades it accepts, and therefore secures all financial transactions.
Since its inception in 1925, The Clearing Corporation has upheld its main objective to ensure the
financial integrity of the futures and options contracts traded on the markets for which it clears. It is
a Delaware Corporation that is owned by 17 stockholders, who themselves represent the worldwide
derivatives marketplace participants and Market Makers.
Through the establishment of the strategic alliance for global clearing, U.S.-based clearing participants
of The Clearing Corporation are having direct access to Eurex's CFTC-approved contracts, which include
fixed income and selected equity index derivatives. This partnership enables U.S.-based customers
to substantially increase the efficiency of capital employed by saving a significant amount of their
current margin requirements.
Through U.S. Exchange Holdings Inc., the Eurex group maintains a 12.62 percent stake in The Clearing Corporation.
